Results of Pet Scan

Bill's cancer has spread throughout his bloodstream. There are multiple tumors in the torso region and the outcome is very grim. There is a one in two chance that with repeat Chemotherapy it will buy some extra time, so Bill has chosen that path. It is with great sadness that it has so rapidly multiplied, we didn't expect it in this magnitude. We are going to try to hang on to the hope that intervention can change or slow the course of the disease. What do you do when the greatest love you have for someone can't make it better? More news to come...

PetScan

Today we have another Pet Scan and it takes about a week to get the news. Just in time for Christmas. Santa will be here on Saturday and I am going to make sure we ask for the greatest gift of no bad news. :( We have some pretty great doctors and they have made great strides with Cancer these days. Hope is our best advocate!

Update on Bill

Each day comes with something new. We are waiting to get the call for the Pet Scan, and a little apprehensive as to what it will show. He seems to be losing weight again, but is eating fairly well considering the obsticles he faces trying to swallow. He is having some moderate to severe back pain these days, but keeps going. He is always here, constantly cleaning, mopping, sweeping, fixing, etc... At times though, he does make frosting for me and shows the Grandkids the rewards to licking it off the beater~ yummo!

Bill's health update
Bill's recent surgery showed that the cancer has spread. They found a mass in the chest cavity that proved to be malignant. We are waiting for a Pet Scan in December, based on the newest findings they will provide a clinical round of chemotherapy to the lungs or liver once the cancer develops a further mass. Right now we wait. :( He does pretty good though, excluding the fifty pounds he has lost, he can still do the work of ten men. We decided to use this blog to update his health, after all this is the reason we continue on... This store was built with love for a future, even though we were unclear of the time allowed, one day it will be my solace. Bill helps me every day as much as possible. He battles constant fatigue and severe muscle spasms. He has some swallowing issues, but we have learned what goes down and what doesn't. A hospital bed helps his angle of sleep be more comfortable, since he can no longer lay flat. Cancer isn't the real pain, it is the truth that comes with it~ Don't kid yourself, there are days that make it so unbearable, the only thing you can do is go forward, and love with all your heart and soul. So here we are, and yes we are a Mom & Pop, and proud of it. Look at our beautiful family! We've both had our careers and as you all know Bill was a Vallejo Firefighter for thirty-one years and a Captain the last eight. This cupcake store is my gift, built on a dream...
